The $5.00 fee does not include travel. Ohio caps the fee for an in-person notarial act at $5 (ORC 147.08(A)(1)); any travel fee is agreed with you before the appointment (ORC 147.08(D)(1)).
Per notarial act: $5.00
Each notarial act (for example, one acknowledgment or one sworn statement) is $5.00. Ohio law sets the fee for an in-person notarial act at up to five dollars (ORC 147.08(A)(1)) and says the fee is not worked out per signature (ORC 147.08(C)). Your notary will tell you how many notarial acts your documents need before you sign.
Travel, port to port
When the notary travels to you, travel time is billed port to port: from when the notary leaves until the notary returns. Ohio law allows “a reasonable travel fee, as agreed to by the notary and the principal prior to the notarial act” (ORC 147.08(D)(1)). So the notary confirms the travel fee with you when setting the appointment, before anything is signed.
Meeting at our Garfield Heights office (WeldonPC.com, 5829 Turney Road)? No travel charge: just the $5.00 per notarial act. The office is for Cleveland appointments with Weldon; Columbus is by appointment only, and there is no Columbus office.

Estimator
Estimate a visit
Number of notarial acts × $5.00, plus travel hours × the rate for the appointment date. An estimate, not a quote: your notary confirms the travel fee with you before the appointment.
Paying
Cash or money order only. There are no card payments and no online payments; this website never asks for payment details. You pay your notary at the appointment.
