How it works

A request first, then a confirmed appointment

  1. I

    Send a request

Tell us the city, the kind of document, how many people are signing and when suits you. Nothing is booked yet.

  2. II

    The notary confirms

Your notary contacts you to set the time and place. If the notary travels, you agree the travel fee before the appointment, as Ohio law requires (ORC 147.08(D)(1)).

  3. III

    Meet, show ID, sign

Every signer appears in person with acceptable identification. Pay by cash or money order. What to bring

Travel-time estimator

See roughly what a visit costs

Travel is billed port to port: from the moment the notary leaves until the notary is back. The rate is $135.00 per hour in 2026 and $150.00 per hour from January 1, 2027.

Estimate

$140.00

1 × $5.00 = $5.00
+ 1 hr × $135.00/hr travel = $135.00

Rate for October 27, 2026. Hours are rounded to the nearest quarter hour. This is an estimate only: the notary agrees the travel fee with you before the appointment.

Plain answers

What a notary does, and what a notary can’t

We can

  • Check each signer’s identity and watch them sign (ORC 147.49).
  • Take acknowledgments and give oaths or affirmations for sworn statements.
  • Complete the notarial certificate for each act (ORC 147.542).

We can’t

  • Give legal advice, or choose, draft or prepare your document. That is our policy, and in Ohio a notary who is not a licensed attorney may not practice law (ORC 147.142(B)).
  • Notarize a document that is incomplete or blank (ORC 147.141(A)(13)), for a signer who appears mentally unable to understand it (ORC 147.141(A)(10)), or for a signer who appears unduly influenced or coerced (ORC 147.141(A)(14)).
  • Notarize remotely. Every notarization here is in person.
